FlightGear (CVS 2006-10-15) test

Display Card: ATI Radeon R250 (Mobility FireGL 9000) AGP, 64MB RAM
X: Xorg 7.0.0 (Debian 7.0.22), with ATI open source driver

Base test options:

--aircraft=747
--timeofday=noon
--disable-random-objects
--geometry=640x480
--prop:/sim/rendering/fps-display=true


Tests:

  1. Textures.high/ directory is removed from $FG_ROOT
  2. All texture files in the Textures/ directory are scaled down to 50% of the original (CVS)
  3. All texture files in the Textures/ directory are scaled down to 25% or the original (CVS)
  4. Materials with multiple texture are changed to have single texture in the materials.xml
  5. Scenery/Objects/ directory is removed
  6. --prop:/sim/ai/enabled=false --prop:/sim/traffic-manager/enabled=false --prop:/sim/ai-traffic/enabled=false

Results:

Remarks:

  1. Test #1 is control
  2. Test #3 startup splash screen fading out was jerky, then back to 30-34fps.
  3. Test #4 startup splash screen fading out was all smooth.
